“I get on with a lot of the people and I see us all coming together and looking after the plants even when the sessions are over”

Jean was feeling down after the death of her husband and rarely spent time out of the house. That all changed when, thanks to support from Rochdale Council, the Groundwork team hosted a series of planting activities in her nearby park.

These days, you'll find Jean in the centre of community greening, looking after the new planters and teaching others about the importance of nature for health 💚

We've helped over 300 people feel more connected to their communities this year, and we hope to carry this on for many years to come!
