Nacro are a social justice charity that provides practical help and personalised support through education, housing, justice and health and wellbeing services.
On the 21st February 2025 they delivered an in person training session at their outdoor learning centre in Wythenshawe Park on how to deliver a nature walk.
The session was designed for VCSE workers, community organisations and activity providers currently providing, or looking to provide, nature for wellbeing activities. The event helped attendees to feel more confident in delivering their own nature walks, and utilise them as a green social prescribing activity.
During the session the workshop discussed practical health and safety and logistics of the walk as well as how to incorporate mindfulness practise and connect with a variety of the community with the natural environment. Attendees were taken on a walk around Wythenshawe Park and participated in discussions throughout the session.
Trainers were very passionate about nature and able to pass their enthusiasm and knowledge to a diverse crowd. The start I was given the opportunity to see wide range of natural information. The trainers were goof about bringing the group together and made it enjoyable…I promote this tour because it was informative, good company and the other members would be going back to similar groups

Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate training staff and the chance to share ideas and learning with others.
